The interest from farmers was high, and the harvest was delivered to several collection centers in Valandovo, Rosoman, and Strumica for sale. A total of 400 tons of Persimmon from different varieties were purchased, but what was characteristic of this purchase were the post-harvest activities applied by the buyer.
For the next year, Fresh Line announced the organization of Contract Production with agricultural producers who have larger areas with Persimmon. For this purpose, plans and strategies are being developed to organize the entire process, from signing contracts and producing quality crops to the actual purchase.
In this process, significant help will come from expert advice from a top expert from Spain, Mr. Pascual, who visited our country to get acquainted with the production method of Persimmons by local fruit growers. With his many years of experience, he made a significant contribution to improving our post-harvest activities. His advice and recommendations were invaluable for supporting our farmers, with a special focus on improving the quality and quantity of the products. Thanks to his expertise, we took a step forward in achieving higher standards and competitiveness in the market.
The goal of the expert’s visit is to obtain professional advice and recommendations regarding the best practices for growing, harvesting, post-harvest processes, storage, and selling of Persimmons. The expert will assist in optimizing field processes and improving post-harvest processes to ensure product quality, long storage, and minimize losses. Additionally, solutions will be offered for potential problems that may arise during these phases – according to the company.
In the following period, an analysis of this year’s purchase will be conducted, payments to farmers will be made, and the experience with foreign partners where Persimmons were marketed will be reviewed. This experience will be used to enter the new production season of 2025 with Contract Production, for which fruit growers have shown interest.
